Other days, there is no wind, the prizes are all faster than you, and you're sure there are enemy frigates somewhere in the water. You break out the sweeps and hope to do a single knot.
Today was the later, not the former. Nothing that I can put my finger on is wrong - just a lack of motivation. Ah well. One knot is better than none.
