Camarilla Addendum
Dec. 15th, 2008 04:24 pmMy amusement at the new addendum knows no bounds whatsoever.
The new fighting style merits they've added are pretty awesome - both James and Petrus would benefit from Fencing, and Petrus could conceivably benefit from Spetkatz Knife Fighting. Probably I'll be buying them very soon. Hey, was the rule about not being able to use two fighting styles at once just in my head, just in a previous addendum, or in the blue book? Because that could get pretty sick pretty quickly.
The rules from Blood on torpor are, in my mind, right and very theme enhancing. The entire point of the game, as set out in the base book, are that high blood potency vampires go into Torpor, where they lose their blood potency and memories and wake up years later. Having an actual set of rules for making that happen in-game makes for a happier John. I've heard some people complain about the fact that the Stirges make anyone who goes into torpor suspect. I'm actually just as happy for that fact - paranoia is and should remain part of a horror game.
Those were the two major changes. The doubled form bonuses for Forsaken got removed, but I really don't care. It doesn't nerf the venue, or anything stupid like that.
